Apartment and Condo Painting in NYC
Painting an apartment is a logistics job as much as a painting job. We plan for both.
Built for NYC buildings
An apartment is not a house with a driveway. There is an elevator to share, neighbors on the other side of the wall, and often a building manager with a list of rules. We ask about all of it when you request a quote, so the schedule, the materials and the way we protect hallways and elevators all match what your building expects.
Whole apartment or one room
Some customers repaint everything: living room, bedrooms, kitchen, hallway, trim and doors. Others want one bedroom done before a baby arrives. Either way you get a single flat-rate price for the full scope, and a plan that tells you which rooms we will be in on which days.
Planning around where you live
Painting while you live in the space works best when the work is sequenced. We usually finish one room completely before starting the next, so you are never without a bedroom or bathroom for long. Furniture is covered or grouped in the room we are working in, floors are protected, and each day ends with a clean-up.
Protecting what you own
Your furniture and floors are covered before painting begins, and we keep paint and tools out of shared spaces. Wood floors, rugs and finished surfaces get the right protection for the surface, not just a bed sheet and hope.
Prep for older buildings
Apartments in older buildings often have plaster walls, hairline cracks and many layers of old paint. We repair what is repairable, sand and prime it, and flag anything that needs a specialist before we cover it up.
Common questions about apartment and condo painting
Can I stay in the apartment while you paint?
Most customers do. We work room by room, keep furniture covered and the work area contained, and clean up each day. If you prefer a fully empty space, tell us and we will plan the schedule around that.
Do you work with co-op and condo boards?
Many buildings have rules for contractors, such as approved work hours, elevator reservations and protection for common areas. Tell us what your building requires when you request a quote and we will plan the job around it.
Can you paint a vacant apartment between tenants?
Yes. Empty apartments are the fastest to paint because there is no furniture to move. Send us the unit size and your timeline and we will quote a flat rate.
