Interior Painting in NYC
Walls, ceilings, trim and doors, finished with sharp lines on protected floors and furniture.
Walls
Walls make up most of what you see in a room, so this is where a clean finish matters. We move furniture to the center of the room and cover it, lay protective coverings on the floors, and mask edges before any paint is opened. Dents and nail holes are patched and sanded smooth, repairs are spot-primed, and the paint goes on in even coats with sharp, straight lines where walls meet ceilings and trim.
Ceilings
We paint ceilings first so nothing drips onto freshly painted walls. A flat finish is the usual choice because it hides imperfections and cuts glare. In kitchens and bathrooms, where steam and splashes are a factor, a more washable finish can be a better fit. We will recommend one when we see the room.
Trim and doors
Trim is slower work than walls, and it shows. We sand, fill and caulk baseboards, crown molding, window casings, door frames and doors, then finish them in a durable satin or semi-gloss that stands up to scuffs and wipes clean. Replacing a tired, yellowed trim color with a crisp one is often the quickest way to make a whole room look new.
Prep is most of the job
A paint job lasts as long as the preparation under it. That means covering what should not be painted, repairing what should not be seen, and priming where the surface needs it. We build all of this into your flat-rate quote, so you are never billed extra by the hour for doing the job properly.
How pricing works
You send us the rooms and a few photos. We give you one written, flat-rate price for the whole job. If you decide to add or change the scope, we agree on the new price before the work happens.
Choosing the right finish
Glossier paint is tougher and easier to clean, but shows more flaws in the wall. We recommend a finish for each surface when we quote.
Flat
Ceilings, and walls with imperfections. Hides flaws best, marks easily.
Matte
Low-traffic walls like bedrooms and offices. Soft, velvety look.
Eggshell
The everyday wall finish for living rooms and hallways. Gentle glow.
Satin
Kitchens, baths and kids’ rooms. Wipes clean without looking shiny.
Semi-gloss
Trim, doors and window frames. Tough, easy to wash.
Gloss
Statement pieces like a front door. Mirror-bright and very durable.
Common questions about interior painting
Do you paint ceilings and trim in the same visit as the walls?
Yes. We plan the whole room as one job, so ceilings, walls, trim and doors are painted in the right order and finished together.
Can you match a color I already have?
Usually, yes. Bring us a paint chip or a small sample of the existing paint and we can have it color-matched. For the best result, test the color on a small section of wall first.
Will you paint over wallpaper or damaged walls?
Walls need to be sound and smooth before painting. We patch and sand most surface damage as part of prep. If a wall has loose wallpaper or deeper damage, we will tell you what it needs before you commit.
